Sweet Embrace was established to serve as an outlet for the diabetes community where people who have type 1 diabetes or love someone that has type 1 diabetes, can access a great deal of resources, guidance, and gain insight into personal experiences with type 1 diabetes. This is a place for people to turn to for love, support, inspiration, or simply to find that sweet embrace of hope and comfort.
I hope to reach out to those in need and to remind all my T1D warriors and their loved ones that you are not in this alone, you are stronger than you think, & you are a warrior! Explore the Sweet Embrace site and all that it has to offer.

As a person living with type 1 diabetes for over 10+ years, I have gone through many trials and tribulations. My goal is that my experiences, both good and bad, can contribute to a joint understanding of how to manage a healthy lifestyle with type one diabetes.
My motto in life is to make the most out of every situation, no matter how terrible of a situation it may be. With diabetes, being diagnosed was one of the worst days of my life but with time, I was able to find some light in this diagnosis. Over the years, I have met some really amazing people in the T1D community. Being a part of this community has truly changed my outlook on life.
Sweet Embrace was my way of setting up a centralized channel to write down all of my experiences and things that I have learned along the way.
The Sweet Embrace Mission
To provide an outlet for sharing personal experiences with type 1 diabetes and to provide a safe place for people impacted by this disease to go for guidance, support, love, or simply for the sweet embrace of hope and comfort. Sweet Embrace hopes to educate and spread awareness on life with diabetes and to encourage people living with type 1 diabetes to life a beautiful, healthy live, despite a type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
The Meaning Behind the Logo
The Sweet Embrace logo was created with the vision of what type 1 diabetes means to me.
The logo intertwines the beauty of a sunflower with the intricacies of managing type 1 diabetes through multiple finger pricks (red blood drop petal) and the use of an insulin pump (insertion site in the middle of the flower).
Sunflowers are known to follow the movement of the sun across the sky in order to obtain the most amount of sunlight. To me, sunflowers represent the strength and resiliency in people with type 1 diabetes, standing tall and finding the light even on the darkest of days. People with type 1 diabetes are beautiful and strong warriors that despite the number of finger pricks or bulky medical equipment that has to be worn, there is still beauty and positivity to be found.
